At RBS, I am a member of the Windows Server Engineering team with the ownership of the in- house Server deployment platform (OneBuild). The role functions include management, improvement and implementing end user requirements.
As part of this team, I was also the primary resource for the Infrastructure refresh project involved with consolidating and upgrading existing hardware for over 1000 disparate sites. This requires in-depth knowledge of various infrastructure systems (Active Directory, Firewall, Virtualization, Network Protocols, Database, Application Packaging, Server Scripting, Software Package management etc.)

I joined Orbis initially tasked with administering and improving the current IT infrastructure. Over time, my responsibility grew to encompass identifying business processes that can be improved and applying technology to facilitate necessary improvement.
The infrastructure support component of the role covered the following activities:
Configuration/Administration of Windows 2003/2008/R2 servers
Responsibilities include configuring, administering and monitoring of core systems services such as DHCP, DNS, File services, Terminal services, Active Directory as well as 3rd party/bespoke services running on these servers.
Technologies used include SCOM, vSphere, IIS, VBScript and PowerShell.
Configuration/Administration of Network Services
Responsibilities include the design, implementation and administration of inter-site network services covering 5 continents and 8 sites. This service is responsible for providing the LAN and WAN connectivity between the local sites and remote regions.

Configuration/Administration of Firewall Services
Responsibilities include the configuration, maintenance and administration of the firewall infrastructure. This service is responsible for providing access to 3rd party companies as well as DIA and VPN connectivity to satellite sites.
